Why I Started YOURCXC

People often ask me why I started YOURCXC.
It's a surprisingly difficult question to answer.
Not because I don't know why, but because my answer isn't built around a dramatic life-changing event, a spiritual awakening or the moment I suddenly discovered my purpose.
The truth is much simpler.
I started YOURCXC because, throughout my career, I've watched Customer Experience become an afterthought.

I've worked with businesses that invested heavily in marketing, sales, technology and operations, yet overlooked the one thing that determines whether customers stay, leave, recommend or return.
The experience.
What frustrated me most wasn't that businesses didn't care about their customers. Most genuinely do.
It's that they often don't realise where they're letting customers down.
Small moments of friction become lost enquiries.
Poor onboarding becomes cancelled contracts.
Slow responses become negative reviews.
A lack of follow-up becomes customers choosing competitors.
These aren't isolated issues. They're revenue leaks. And they're happening every single day.
That's why I created YOURCXC.
Fix The Experience. Grow The Revenue.
Our tagline is: Fix The Experience. Grow The Revenue.
It isn't a catchy marketing slogan. It's a principle I've seen proven time and time again.
Businesses spend thousands trying to generate more leads, while ignoring the customers they already have.
They focus on acquiring new customers instead of asking why existing customers aren't staying.
Growth doesn't always require more marketing. Sometimes it simply requires fixing the experience.
When customers find it easier to buy, easier to understand, easier to trust and easier to stay, revenue naturally follows.
We've Forgotten the Fundamentals
Long before websites, social media, AI and automation, businesses built loyalty in a very different way.
Owners knew their customers personally:
They greeted people by name.
They knew what customers usually bought.
They remembered family members.
They understood preferences.
Very often, what you wanted was already waiting for you before you even asked.
That wasn't called Customer Experience. It was simply called doing business well.
Ironically, we've had to invent the term "Customer Experience" because somewhere along the way, we stopped delivering it consistently.
Today, we're surrounded by technology designed to improve efficiency.
But efficiency and experience aren't always the same thing.
We Still Crave Human Experiences
Don't misunderstand me. I believe technology is incredible.
AI, automation and digital platforms can remove repetitive tasks, speed up transactions and make businesses far more efficient.
But somewhere along the way, many organisations started using technology to replace human interaction instead of enhancing it.
Customers are directed towards chatbots when they're already frustrated:
They're asked to repeat information multiple times.
They're transferred between departments.
They're forced through processes that make sense internally but create unnecessary friction externally.
Then businesses wonder why they receive human complaints. Because customers are human.
Technology can process transactions.
It can't replace empathy.
It can't build trust.
It can't genuinely care.
Whenever an interaction involves emotion, uncertainty or trust, people still want people.
My Approach Isn't Built Around Fancy Tools
One of the biggest misconceptions about Customer Experience is that improving it requires expensive software, complex dashboards or the latest digital platform.
It doesn't.
Technology supports Customer Experience. It doesn't create it.
That's why my approach has never been about selling businesses another piece of software or introducing unnecessary complexity.
It starts with conversations. Real conversations with business owners. Leadership teams. Frontline employees. Sometimes even customers themselves.
Before suggesting a solution, I want to understand the business:
What does it stand for?
Why does it exist?
What promises does it make?
What experience does it genuinely want customers to have?
What are the values that sit behind the brand?
Only then can you build an experience that feels authentic.
From there, it's about applying tried and tested strategies that have worked across multiple industries:
Sometimes that's improving onboarding.
Sometimes it's redesigning communications.
Sometimes it's changing internal processes.
Sometimes it's coaching teams to have better conversations.
Sometimes it's removing a frustrating step that everyone has simply accepted for years.
The answer is rarely another platform.
Customer Experience isn't created by software. It's created by people, processes and culture.
That's why I prefer a hands-on approach.
I enjoy getting inside a business, understanding how it really operates, identifying where customers become frustrated and working alongside teams to fix those problems.
No unnecessary jargon.
No overcomplicated frameworks.
No consulting theatre.
Just practical improvements that customers notice and businesses benefit from.
The Biggest Problem I See
Perhaps my biggest frustration is watching businesses become more focused on pleasing shareholders than serving customers.
Quarterly targets become more important than long-term loyalty.
Cost reduction becomes more important than customer confidence.
Customer service is viewed as a cost instead of an investment.
Too often, customers become the sacrificial lambs in pursuit of ever-increasing shareholder returns.
The irony is that shareholders only benefit because customers choose to spend money with the business in the first place.
Without customers, there are no profits. Without great experiences, there are fewer customers.
It's as simple as that.
Why YOURCXC Exists
YOURCXC wasn't created because Customer Experience is a fashionable business term.
It exists because I genuinely believe businesses grow faster when they become easier to do business with.
When you remove friction.
When you communicate clearly.
When you build trust.
When customers feel valued rather than processed.
When every interaction reinforces the promise your brand makes.
That's when businesses grow sustainably.
Customers stay longer. They spend more. They recommend others. Marketing works harder. Revenue grows.
Not because you've shouted louder than your competitors, but because you've created an experience worth coming back to.
That is, and always will be, the mission behind YOURCXC.
Because Customer Experience shouldn't be an afterthought. It should be the foundation of every successful business.
Fix The Experience. Grow The Revenue.
